Sorry about the watermark. But this is probably my favorite picture in this gallery and I would hate for it to get stolen. (Note, photomanipulating isn't stealing. I'm talking about taking the picture and reposting it as is elsewhere.) NOTE! If you want a larger pixel size version of these pictures, or ones that aren't sharpened, just ask! The original versions of these pictures are all at 1920x2560, and while I refuse to POST those sized pictures here I am not against sending a larger sized version to you if you want them. Here's the deal: -Ask for a larger sized version and I'll send you one at 1280x960 pixels. (If I know you well enough and trust you though, I'll probably send you one at a higher resolution than that. [Though not as high as the commercial version.]) -However, if you want to use these for commercial uses send me a note to discuss payments and such and I'll send you the 1920x2560 version. =/
Taken at: The Santa Barbara Arabian/Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian horse show in CA. Summer 2007.
Read the rules in my journal if you wish to use this image. If you understand them and still wish to use this then please leave me a note/comment/etc so that I can know.
Note: I'm still in awe of the fact that this photo turned out so well.. xD Especially since it was from my first batch of photos that weren't exactly all up to par..
It kinda makes me miss being able to ride saddleseat/english though.... ;__; (I stopped riding that discipline when Echelon, my horse, could no longer physically perform it. He can still be ridden, don't get me wrong, but he can't consistantly perform the high-stepping action that is required of a saddleseat/english horse without hurting himself.)
Oh what a beautiful gait that Arab's got. Smooth trot. Nice shot.
I know how you feel. I have a Morgan mare that used to do all that beautiful stuff (she was a Saddleseat and sucessful Hunt Seat show mare) until she broke her coffin bone a long time ago in a Hunt Seat accident... long before I got her. I would have loved to show her but she's too lame for riding now.
But I have a younger Morgan gelding that picks his feet up high, pretty, and smooth all naturally. I'd love to put him in a Saddleseat show.
I'm sorry that that happened. *winces* What happened to my horse isn't as severe as what happened in your case thankfully. His hocks just couldn't keep up with the strain, which is partially my fault because I wasn't physically able to push him into the leads properly back then, and it would have been harmful to his overall health if we kept on practicing that discipline on him.
That's great about your gelding though. How old is he?
Ah I see.
Tucker's two, going on three in November. My trainer's training him thoroughly this winter so he's safe to ride next spring. Maybe if my parents will let me I could ask the trainer to get him ready for Saddleseat.... walk, trot, canter is simple enough... no? (Or is saddleseat more than what I think it is?)
Pretty much. If your horse has the movement needed to perform the discipline then it should be a fairly simple process to train him. I'm not very knowledgable about Morgans', but I don't think you'll have to worry about taking the time to teach your horse how to rack or anything beyond the basic gates.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
